House Sends Keystone XL Bill to the President

Statement

The U.S. House of Representatives has approved the Senate-passed Keystone XL Pipeline Approval Act. Following passage of the bill, Congressman Bill Flores (R-Texas) issued the following statement:

"Today, the new American Congress is sending a bipartisan jobs and energy security bill to the president to be signed into law. The Keystone XL pipeline brings thousands of jobs and enhanced energy security for America. The only thing standing in the way of this shovel-ready jobs project is the president's signature.

"President Obama is now faced with a decision to either put the needs and priorities of hardworking American families first or to put Washington insiders and special interests groups ahead of those needs. It is my hope that he reconsiders his veto threat and signs this important bipartisan legislation into law. Hardworking American families have suffered far too much under Obama's failed "middle class economics' policies. It is time to build the Keystone XL pipeline and grow America's economy."
